Unbox your set

Open the base by pressing firmly on its top and bottom at the same time, then twist the lid to unscrew it.

Every Totem Forge set includes:

• Your totems
• The base, also your summoning circle and protective storage
• A USB-C cable, built into the base
• An NFC tag linking to this guide (hidden in the center of the lid)

Add art to your gallery

• Download our free Classic Fantasy Monsters and NPCs pack (48 portraits) and import it with Import Archive.
• Share any image from your browser or other apps straight to the Totem Forge app.
• Or tap "+" and press Import Images to get it from your phone's gallery. Crop it and add tags and text afterwards.
• Or tap "+" and press Import Art Packs for our hand-crafted packs: ready to use, with images, tags, and text already done.

Dock → Summon → Play

1. Place a totem on the dock base by firmly pressing on it (check connector position first).
2. Connect the base to your phone with its built-in USB-C cable.
3. The app opens automatically. Pick a portrait from your gallery or a curated art pack, and transfer it to the totem.
4. Lift the totem off the base and set it on the table.

Using the web app? Plug the base into your computer, open the web app, open a portrait and click Summon. If it asks for a firmware update, run the firmware updater once in Google Chrome: about a minute.

The e-ink screen holds the portrait without any power, so it stays visible all session, no phone required nearby.

Light it up (optional)

Press down on the colored insert to switch on the internal LED. Use it to signal status effects like poisoned or blessed, or just to make a boss moment glow.

The light runs on a small CR927 battery that lasts several months if turned off between sessions. To replace it: firmly press on the bottom piece of the totem from the side where the inserts are, then remove the insert and take out the LED unit to swap the battery.

Swap for next session

Dock the totem again anytime to load a different character. One set covers an entire campaign, one portrait at a time.
